Growing our own

Good sized gardens are few and far between in London so i'm incredibly lucky to have a garden which is big enough to grow cut flowers. We use lots of these stems in our wedding floristry but any that don't make it into an arrangement or bouquet are dried to become confetti. Natural petal confetti is biodegradable, so much better for the environment than paper, and looks much prettier. The majority of our petals are from roses but most petals will work just as well. If you're doing this yourself ensure the petals have air circulating around them when drying out. A plastic kitchen crate, sieve or colander is perfect as the air holes prevent any dampness staying in the petals.
